About SLAM
Who and what is SLAM?
 

SLAM is a subsidiary of the South African Football Association (SAFA) established in 2005 for the commercialisation and management of all SAFA’s Trademarks including Bafana Bafana.

SLAM's vision to DRESS THE NATION and to build the Bafana Bafana brand through a meaningful licensing programme & marketing strategies that will elevate the perception of the brand and develop it into the leading sports brand in South Africa.

SLAM’s mission is to capture the essence of Bafana Bafana and make it accessible through exciting merchandise to the broadest base of supporters and people.

Upholding the highest level of professionalism, SLAM, through its programme will assist in building a lifestyle brand that all South African’s can associate with & be proud of.

With South Africa hosting the 2010 World Cup, SLAM has the opportunity of broadening the brand’s boundaries and to showcase the true passion and spirit of Bafana Bafana.

   
  Bafana Bafana Licensing Programme
  SLAM is SAFA’s Master Licensee and the rights holder of the Bafana Bafana trademark which is the most valuable mark with a view to South Africa hosting the FIFA 2010 World Cup.

SLAM’s core business consists of the following:
  •  Brand custodians of all SAFA’s registered trademarks.
  •  Management of all SAFA’s registered trademarks.
  •  Comprehensive Management of the Bafana Bafana licensing programme:
    •  Identify market related product categories to license.
    •  Granting of licenses to selected suppliers and/or distributors.
    •  Brand assurance & product development/strategy.
    •  Rights management and activation.
    •  Royalty payments. 
    •  Brand & product research .
  •  Coordination & activation of an effective Sales & Distribution strategy.
    •  Key Retailer relationship management & accounts.
  •  Implementation of an overall & comprehensive Marketing & Brand strategy (licensing programme).
  •  Implementation of a pro-active Brand Protection Programme.
