Bafana Bafana Official Licensed Product

In order to supply, distribute and promote any product manufactured for both retail and promotional purposes bearing the Bafana Bafana mark or any of SAFA’s registered trademarks, a company needs to acquire a license through SLAM.

A license is a formal agreement with which SLAM grants the rights or formally authorizes a Company the use of any of the Official Registered SAFA Trademarks, which include Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana, Amaglug-glug, Amajita and Amajimbos.

Any use of these marks without legitimate authorization or License granted by SLAM will constitute both trademark and intellectual property infringement and the products will be considered counterfeit. Any company therefore who is found manufacturing, supplying and/or distributing any counterfeit product will be legally prosecuted.

The following procedure is specifically for the application of a Bafana Bafana License, however it can be used for the application of any other SAFA License, through SLAM.

In order to acquire the rights to use the Bafana Bafana mark/logo on any product or service, a Company must submit a detailed business plan to SLAM.

The business plan must include the following:

  1. A detailed product listing.
  2. A detailed distribution strategy.
  3. Estimated total wholesale sales by category for the term.
  4. Submission of a margin breakdown for each category.
